Privacy policy

Voladores is a live-tracking and push-to-talk app for paragliding and hang-gliding pilots and their friends.
What we collect
- Phone number: your login. We send it to Twilio to deliver a one-time login code by WhatsApp. It is shown to nobody, but friends who already know it can find you by it.
- Profile: the display name and optional avatar you choose.
- Location: GPS fixes while a flight is recorded, and your flight history (track, duration, altitude, speed).
- Flight names and photos: if you name a flight or attach a photo, they are stored with the flight.
- Voice notes: short audio clips you record and send to friends.
- Device push token: so we can notify you of a voice note via Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google).
Location
- Your live position is shared only with friends you have both accepted, and only while a flight is active. Strangers, pending requests and blocked users never see it.
- The live position expires from our servers 90 seconds after your last update. It is never shown historically to anyone.
- The app uses background location to detect take-off and landing automatically, so you never need to press record. By default detection only runs after you tap "Ready" at launch; "always-on detection" is an opt-in setting.
- Your past flights and tracks are private to you, unless you share a flight. A shared flight's link shows anyone who has it that flight's track, stats, name, photo and your display name. Stop sharing at any time and the link stops working.
Voice notes
Voice notes are stored in encrypted cloud storage and delivered only to the friends you send them to. They are deleted automatically after 30 days unless pinned to one of your flights.

Website
Our website (losvoladores.com) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read: pages viewed, scrolling, links clicked, rough location (country/city) and device type. It uses cookies for this. The app itself has no analytics. You can block this with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker; the site works the same.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where your data lives and for how long
- Our servers and storage are hosted in the European Union (Railway, Netherlands region). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Flights and your profile are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Live positions last 90 seconds; voice notes 30 days unless pinned to a flight.
Children
Voladores is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
Deleting your data
Delete your account any time in the app (Settings → Delete account), or see how to request deletion. Flights, voice notes and positions are removed within 24 hours.
